Heavy , nearly square, cast iron base that is painted black with gold speckles.
Above base is a brass colored dial that has all ten digits on it imprinted in the form of the dots that it punches in a check. Off to the side is a brass handle with a wood grip that when depress punches imprint in check.
ID plate just below dial is imprinted "ABBOTT Automatic Check Protector PAT'D APRIL 23 1889"
This was used by the City of Central Point.
