1. "Suisune, California, August 18, 1867, to Dear Uncle and Aunt" by Sterling Hill and I.R. Hill, written on both sides of paper. Gives account of family news and reports of Battle of Bull Run, Civil War.
2. "Sweetwater, January 5, 1875, to My Dear Friend, Mrs. Hill" from
M.W. Herskell, written on both sides of paper, family news.
3. "March 12, 1841, Dear Brother and Sister", from Rhoda Smith, another from Chloe Stright, one from John Stright and one unsigned, all letters on the same sheet, written on both sides, the address being on one fold, "Anderson Town, Madison County, Indiana, to Daniel Freeman Stright, May 29, 1841, Culbertson, Pa. 25 (postage). All family news.
